Edit data set published report
ah, thanks Anonymous , this appears to be the case therefore I can't change it.
If it's of any use for others this is the work around I have found (although clearly not ideal). I was able to save the datamodel to my desktop and then open it in the desktop app. This helps me explore the datamodel and see the formulas if I need to do that. I can also download the visuals in another file then copy and past across to recreate my original report. It's not ideal but it appears to work.
Hi LauraH ,
Thanks 3CloudThomas for your attention to this issue. I have some other thoughts to add:
You can click Transform Data to enter Power query, right-click the table, copy a table, delete the step in the right step bar, keep only the source step, and then click Close and Apply. Then go back to PBI Desktop, click on the refresh tab of the tab, at this point you can see the latest raw data, and then you can create new measures as needed.
Best Regards,
Neeko Tang

Thank you Anonymous. Unfortunately that didn't work.
When I click on Transform Data, all the opions I have is a blank query 0 there is no other table I could chose.
I tried right-clicking on the table I want, but the only way to do that is on the data model (the one that shows the relationships). When I right-click on that I have no opion to copy the table.
I tried creating a brand new report then connecting to the same data model, but that is exactly the same.
I'm sure others have found a way around this, I can't be the only one who wants to go back to the data table of a published report!
Thank you all for your help
Laura
