Dynamic total column matrix

Hi Fellow Bi users,

 

I am facing an issue with matrix visual where i need to column totals. I tried out many measures and googled around for a solution but none seem to work dynamically. Below is the scenario:

 

I have ID for incoming messages and DQ flags set. All are autopopulated and coming in from source. I need to provide a simple report with total DQ checks for each ID. Catch is that end user should be able to select which DQ measures he want to see the matrix for. So i have created a DQ measure group and provided a slicer.

 

 

This is the default matrix.

 

 

If end user selects only DQ1,3,4 from slicer then matrix should look like this.

      parry2k Thanks a lot! It worked. I'm still a little curious though if a slightly different scenario would pose where we don't have option to unpivot table like live connection to an already built model, or some constraints put into place. Then do we have a workaround to show the column total just by ID and multiple values?

    Anonymous is the first image of how you receive the data? It is not clear how your raw data looks like?

      Raw data looks exactly like the image shown except the total column. There are some non trivial other attributes too so i just skipped.

       

      Raw data : ID, attributes, DQ flags.

      Expected Output : ID, DQ flags, Total of selected DQ flags in a matrix for each ID.

    Anonymous see solution attached, look at table DQ, ignore other tables.

     

    basically, you unpivot the data in power query, and then from there everything is super simple.
