Yes, I did try your suggested step.

& now when I go to create a new parameter, below are the options -

I did.

 

Post creating the parameter.

 

The parameter looks like this - 

 

So,

 

I do not have any options to select apart from the above in image. Ideally the options Highlighted in Red in the raw table have to come in the drop down parameter list but it isnt the case.

 

Also, nothing on graph, its blank and the layout looks like this , where you can see the graph as blank and also visualization pointers selected for better reference -
