I have a few tables I'm interested in adding dynamic RLS to, but have mainly found examples illustrating how to do it based on user. I have four relevant tables: Plan, User, Team and TeamMembership. Each plan is owned by one (and only one) team, and a team is comprised of at least one user. There exists an intersectional entity TeamMembership as each user can belong to many teams, and each team can have many users. There are about 100 users and about 30 or so teams, so manually setting this up and maintaing would be cumbersome. How can I properly set up dynamic RLS so that each user can see the plans owned by all the teams they belong to?!
Hi @cjanow3 ,
First make sure that the correct relationship is established between the tables. Then set the contents of the plan table that different users can access by "Manage Role" in the desktop. For details, please refer to the following official documents, I hope to help you:
Row-level security (RLS) with Power BI - Power BI | Microsoft Docs
Restrict data access with row-level security (RLS) for Power BI Desktop - Power BI | Microsoft Docs
If the problem is still not resolved, please provide detailed error information and let me know immediately. Looking forward to your reply.
Best Regards,
Henry
