Dynamic M Query Parameters - is snowflake supported

Hi

Im interested in the new dynamic parameter functionality for PowerQuery. Does anyone know if Snowflake is supported as a data source? Does anyone have any experience regarding how to improve the direct query from PowerQuery to snowflake so that it does not attempt to select everything from the table? Is there any way to control how the query is made?

The feature is only supported for M based data sources. The following DirectQuery sources are not supported:

  • T-SQL based data sources: SQL Server, Azure SQL Database, Synapse SQL pools (aka Azure SQL Data Warehouse), and Synapse SQL OnDemand pools
  • Live connect data sources: Azure Analysis Services, SQL Server Analysis Services, Power BI Datasets
  • Other unsupported data sources: Oracle, Teradata and Relational SAP Hana
  • Partially supported through XMLA / TOM endpoint programmability: SAP BW and SAP Hana

    Hi DesNaidoo ,

    Please kindly refer to:

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/connect-data/desktop-connect-snowflake

For snowflake, you can choose to Import data directly into Power BI, or you can use DirectQuery. You can learn more about using DirectQuery. Please note that AAD SSO only supports DirectQuery.

      Hi Stephen

I was actually referring to the new Dynamic M Query parameter functionality that was introduced that has the parameter binding to slicers. Would that work with snowflake?

Hi, did you get a solution on this? My report was working fine with the slicers bined to 2 date parameters. After I think the april update it stopped working.

Hi, I am also very interested to know whether and how dynamic M parameters are supported in Power BI if Snowflake is the datasource. I would appreciate an answer very strongly.
