Dynamic Filtering

Hi,

I have a dataset of car dealership sales figures. (i.e. Car Dealership Name, Yearly Sales, Fiscal Year, Region). I have a homepage that allows you to filter (slicers) for car dealership and region. I have synced the slicers to the next page, where I have a card that has the sum of yearly sales for a specific dealership and another card that is average of the sum of year sales. My question is when I filter for a particular dealership on the home page (i.e. Gotham Nissan) and it is located in the NE region can I have my average of the sum of year sales card show the average for the NE region. Currently,  I have slicers synced to the next page so it won't allow me to see the average of the NE region and just shows me the value for the specific dealership.

Hi @Anonymous ,

Have you solved the problem with the suggestion of Seth_C_Bauer ?

If you have solved, please always accept the replies making sense as solution to your question so that people who may have the same question can get the solution directly.

If you still need help, please feel free to ask.

It seems that you have the two slicer car dealership and region in your homepage, do you have the sync slicers for the both in other pages? If it is cnvenient, could you share some screenshots to describe your scenario better?

Best  Regards,

Cherry

@Anonymous  The first thought that comes to mind is that since the slicer is a more granular level, you would have to do something within the measure to ignore the filter context being passed into the page (likely "ALL"), then create your own filter context around region. Do something like create a variable to capture the region for the specific dealership selected, and build the calculations over the region variable ignoring any existing filter context..
