Dynamic End date Slicer based on the Filter

Hello All,

I am trying to make the end date slicer to be dynamic based on the filter.

Please see the screenshot below to get an idea.

When I select "Most Recent Final" from the Date Filter, I see all the data until 9/30/2021 which is correct, However the end date on the date slicer still stays at 12/31/2022. Users are getting confused by this. Is there a way to get the end date slicer value to change? In this case users are expecting to see 9/30/2021.

Sample data.jpgI can setup a card to display the Max(date) on the report, however when users exporting the table data to excel, they cannot find out what is the most recent final quarter. Please let me know if anyone has suggestions.

Thank you,

Nikki Boez

Thank you @Samarth_18

I don't know why the interaction was disabled on my date slicer, Thanks for your input, I have fixed it. However, is it possible to show min date when Preliminary is selected.

For example when Preliminary is selected, the filter shows everything until 12/31/22. However users wanted to see only the actuals (which is less that or equal to 12/31/2021) not forecasted data.

Can we add a logic based on the relative date or any other way just for Preliminary

@nikhil425  Could you please share what would be condition for actuals or you can send it updated file actuals data as well.?

@Samarth_18 : Please find the pbix file in link below:

I have modified the logic for the date filter to show Forecast as a drop down value:

Sorry, I think I didn't explain it properly in my previous message, basically when user selects Most Recent Final, then they should see all the data that were final, when they select Preliminary, they would like to see all the preliminary including Final, similarly when Forecast is selected, they should see everything.

I can educate users to Multiselect if they want to see everything, however there are so many users, so I am thinking if there is a way to achieve this without mutiselecting filter values.

Sample data1.jpg

@nikhil425 I would suggest multi select would be better option. Just enable select all option in slicer setting like below. If we enble select all then you dont need explicitly educate user to use select multiple using ctrl.
