Drill through based on the parent Value

Hi,

I have a scenario involving a matrix table with five levels of data, where each level is represented by an individual column. In this matrix, Level 1 is the parent of Level 2, Level 2 is the parent of Level 3, and so on, creating a hierarchical structure. This setup is displayed on Page 1 with collapse and expansion features.

Additionally, I have a Details Page that uses a table visual to display data. The Equp_num column is included in this visual. I have configured drill-through functionality from Page 1 to the Details Page, passing all five levels of data for drill-through.

The issue I’m encountering is that when I right-click a value on Page 1 to drill through, all underlying data is shown on the Details Page, rather than drilling through to the specific value selected on Page 1.

The expectation is that selecting a parent record on Page 1 should drill through to the corresponding value on the Details Page. Despite trying various approaches, I haven’t been able to achieve this result.

I have attached screenshots for reference.

If I drill through from the highlighted value from page 1 below is the screenshot for reference.

I will get the results like this.

Below screenshot for the expected results.(Except the child records)

Any assistance in resolving this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Hi, what ever the approach you were suggested that is not helpful to my requirement. I am still looking for the solution.

Thanks for you  inputs on this.

Hi @Tring01 ,
Based on your description and the data provided, when you do a drill down to another page, what is usually displayed is all the data below that level. If you want to show just one piece of data, you can do the following
First, drag level 5 to the drill through filed and choose used as category in detail page

In original page, you can right click the level 5 and choose drill through

Thank you for your response. Its almost fine but when I tried to drill through from the level2 and level 3 and level4 I can't see the drill through option to the next page if I passed the level1 and level2 and level3 in the results page. Below is the screenshot for reference.

Thanks,

Hi @Tring01 ,

As you said, if you do level 1, level 2 and level 3 drill downs you can't find find the drill down page. This is because you don't have a drilldown field set up on the target page, which is why you can't pass a value to the target page as a filter. Also, please note that as mentioned before, drilling down to the target page will show all the data that meets the criteria under that level . That said, you need to determine the appropriate drilldown precision and display fields.

Best regards,
Albert He
