I have to draw some insight using smart narrative on using the data appearning on MAP. Does smart narrative work in map visualization?
Solved! Go to Solution.
Hi @Anonymous ,
Here are the steps you can follow:
1. Create measure.
Measure =
SWITCH(
TRUE(),
MAX('Table2'[Country])="USA","The amount in the USA has been relatively stable",
MAX('Table2'[Country])="India","India took a big hit in 2018 but recovered slightly in 2019",
MAX('Table2'[Country])="United Kingdom","The UK grew in 2018 compared to 2017 but then dropped dramatically in 2019")
2. Use Smart narrative visual objects.
3. In the dialog box that appears, write down the text first, and click +Value to find the corresponding measure
4. Result:
Select the country in the map to display the information of which country.

What set of data do they to be entered. Because we have following data -
Country | Year | Currency | Amount |
USA | 2017 | USD | 1000000 |
India | 2017 | INR | 25000000 |
United Kingdom | 2017 | GBP | 500000 |
USA | 2018 | USD | 900000 |
India | 2018 | INR | 10000000 |
United Kingdom | 2018 | GBP | 550000 |
USA | 2019 | USD | 1100000 |
India | 2019 | INR | 17500000 |
United Kingdom | 2019 | GBP | 300000 |
And we needed to plot all 3 years of data so users could draw insights along the lines of:
“The amount in the USA has been relatively stable”
“India took a big hit in 2018 but recovered slightly in 2019”
“The UK grew in 2018 compared to 2017 but then dropped dramatically in 2019”
And the preference is to use Map visualization. Please help. Thanks in advance!
