Helper IDo I need a Burndown chart?
Hi all,
Appreciate some advice... on what chart/visual I should attempt (limited PBI knowledge) for the following use case:
- I have a total count of employees by country
- Split into several teams
- They support multiple customers
- Customers are migrating to a new platform so have dates linked to their moves which means employees supporting them will also move
I need to show:
- By move dates, By country, By teams (can be rolled up or drill down)
- Total number of employees and customers at start
- A running total by date to show how many moved
- A total by date to show how many are left in the teams
I think a burndown chart is what I need? or open to advice as I'm not sure what measures etc. I need to create to demonstrate this.
Not that I want much but % as well as values would also be great.
FYI - there are 'unknown' customers in each team so I would need to account for this.
Not sure where to start here.

Hi melimob1 -For your use case, a burndown chart is indeed a good choice to show the decreasing number of employees supporting customers as they migrate to a new platform. However, given the need to break down by date, country, and team, I suggest using a combination of visuals to provide the insights you need.
Option1: you can try with Stacked Column Chart or Bar Chart for Breakdown by Team and Country
Option2:Table or Matrix for Detailed Counts by Customer and Team
Option3:Pie Chart or Donut Chart for Percentage of Employees Moved vs Remaining
Option4: Slicer for Date and Team
