Displaying Sharepoint List user name issue

Hi Guys,

I followed the solution from a few years ago below. When I get to part there and create a releationship it doesn't seem to display the name just shows the ID number

1). Import SharePoint list. (you should already finished it)

2). Import user profile information:

2.1). Get data with OData type: https://sharepointsitename.sharepoint.com/_vti_bin/listdata.svc (change sharepointsitename to your site name)

2.2). Select the list “UserInformationList” and load the data.

3). Join SharePoint list you imported in Step1 to user profile info you get in Step2: Go to Manage Relationships function in Power BI Desktop.

Hi, @jbrines

I think you have some confusion about the premise of create a relationship. They had better be of the same data type,The relationship between id and name is inherently conflicting. So there is a problem.

If it doesn’t solve your problem, please feel free to ask me.

Yes I am confused, sorry.

I am trying to create a report from a sharepoint list that will show how may items were assigned to someone

I am trying to create a report to show how may items were created by someone

Also I am trying to create a report on how many were assigned to a Sub-Contractor.

Hi, @jbrines

I don't seem to understand the connection between your ideas and create relationships. Can you explain it more clearly?

I suggest that you can create a relationship based on the same field, such as the 'contenttypeid' in your two tables.

Any ideas?

Hi, @jbrines

It’s my pleasure to answer for you.

According to your description, you imported the data in two SharePoint Lists, and then there was a problem when creating a relationship.

Can you share screenshots of specific problems that occurred during the progress? So we can help you soon.

Best Regards
