Displaying Date Filter Settings
Hi,
We are being asked to display in a report header that shows the setting of a page level date filter. We have worked with DAX ISFILTERED and FILTERS functions to acheive something approximating to what we need for simple single date selections. But it all goes horribly wrong if we switch to relative or advanced date filtering.
The reports we are developing will be used by senior managers in board style meetings, we need to get clear titles on the screen to show date ranges seleted, otherwise confusion abounds. I know that the filters pane on the left will reveal all, but some of our users just like to look at the report as it is, and not have to start opening the side bar.
Do any of you have similar requirements, if so how have you solved this? It might not just be dates that are selected of course, but solving this issue would be a useful start.
Is this maybe a driver for a new visual, one that is designed just to show filter settings?
Thanks
Rob
