Hi,
I have a power bi report that is supposed to help users find groups of rows from a single source. In order to do so they have to do some manual searching through a lot of data.
I have one source table T containing columns A, B and C where C can be either "Ours" or "Theirs". A typical group would consist 1-2 rows where C = "Ours" and one or more rows where C = "Theirs".
In addition to other stuff on the report I have two table visuals, one (TV1) only showing rows from T where C = "Ours" and another (TV2) where T = "Theirs". What I want is to have the user search both visuals and select the rows from each visual that they want to include in the group. So far no problem. What I am struggling with is to show the group in a third table visual (TV3) - i.e. as the user selects rows from TV1 I want to show them in TV3 and if the user finds the rows to include in the group from TV2 I want them in TV3 as well. I have set it up and all is working as it is supposed to do except that PBI correcly filters TV3 as I select rows from TV1 but as I select rows from TV2 the filter on TV3 is an "AND" on the selected rows from TV1 and TV2 obviously rendering TV3 empty instead of the union between selected rows in TV1 and TV2.
The question is therefore is there a way to display the union of selected rows from two table visuals in the third?
Thank you,

Hi @styrmiro
Sorry I misunderstood your requirement. I don't believe this is possible the way you are proposing. However, by creating static filtered tables and creating relationships this can be achieved

Thank you @tamerj1 for a very thorough explanation - this looks very promising and I will try it out 🙂
Hi @styrmiro
you can simply create a measure for example
SELECTEDVALUE ( TV1[A] ) & SELECTEDVALUE ( TV2[A] )
same for column B
for a numeric column replace & with +
Hi @tamerj1 , thanks for your reply.
I however don't see how the selectedvalue can be used on the TV1 and TV2 as they are table visuals representing the same source table T.
To clarify - below is a simple representation of the scenario. All table visuals are based on the same table, the two topmost are visuals TV1 and TV2 showing filtered results from the table T (ours and theirs). As I select rows from the top-left visual they are filtered and shown in the visual below (TV3). The visuals on top are not linked so TV2 is not filtered by the selection in TV1. What I want is to be able to select a row in TV2 and have that row appear in TV3 (below) along with the rows already filtered by TV1 - i.e. that the selections from the two visuals TV1 and TV2 form a union or an "Or" filter for TV3.
thank you
