Direct Query via API call using OAuth

Hi,

I've been exploring using OAuth athentication in a REST API call, following this example tutorial:

http://angryanalyticsblog.azurewebsites.net/index.php/2016/05/16/api-strategies-with-power-bi/#comme...

While its a bit older now, I did manage to get it to work as intended.

Unfortunately, I am unable to have this run as a Direct Query.

Can anyone tell me what I might be doing wrong?  Is there any way, save creating a custom connector, where I can have this work as a direct query?

Thanks
