Direct Query - Using Binary Columns

Hi

I am currently using direct query for a report and I want to bring a photo in from a SQL Server table. The column doesn't appear but when I go to Edit Query, it appears as a Binary column. When I try to transform it to text, it says this is not supported through Direct Query.

Is there any other way to bring the photo through?

Thanks

Victoria

Hi Victoria,

1. The images aren't supported yet. Please refer to the snapshot below.

2. The Direct Query mode has a little limitation. How about the Import mode? If the Import mode is good, you can try the base64 images as the snapshot below shows.

Is there any updates or news on if it will ever support Images? I have to use Direct Query to use the Dynamic M Paramaters to filter by date so I am stuck with DQ.

Hi Dale

I was hoping to use Direct Query but it's good to know that it works with Import in case I have to end up using it instead.

Thanks a lot!

Victoria
