Hi everyone -
we are planning currently an enterprise wide roll out of PowerBI for a large group of people. The scenario would be that we have PowerBI consuming data via SSAS using DirectQuery as we dont want to be tied to the 10GB limitation of the workspace which you currently have.
Considering these points could you please confirm that if we go with the direct query method directly to the database the 10GB limitation is not anymore valid? Are there any other limitations using the direct query on SSAS especially regarding volume ?
Thanks & Regards
In Power BI, when opening live connection to SSAS, the data will not be stored on Power BI Service so that the storage limitation will not be a problem. However, to connect and refresh the data from Power BI Service, you must install gateway. But neither On-Premise nor Personal Gate is available for free user. You must have a Pro license.
Regards,
Simon Hou
