Direct Query + Excel file

Hello,

Please help on the issue which I have.

I have connection to database via Direct Query ( sales data).

I would like to enchance the data with additional information ( like Products form, Products Name etc) which are in excel file which I loaded to Power BI.

I tried to connect the datra using RELATED or LOOKUP functions. It do not work.

Please help me how can I add this information or could help me with implementation of the functions ( if it works)

Many thanks,

Karolina

Hi @KaroRoza ,
Based on your description, you want to integrate data acquired in both connection modes. But as of now, this involves the manipulation of composite models. Since the Direct Query connection mode does not load all the data into Power BI Desktop, you cannot make changes to the data in Desktop. However, you can combine the data through visual objects.
For optimized operations and best recommendations for PBI's composite model, you can check this official document in detail:

Albert He
