Difference between Synapse connector and SQL Database connector

Hi Everyone,

I am able to get the data in Power BI from Synapse by using both Synapse connector and SQL Database connector, so what is the difference??

  • @Pulkit, Synapse can store data stored in a data lake or in tables. which can be queried using SQL and many other languages.

For Synapse better use the Synapse connector. Synapse is the advancement of Azure SQL DW, in simple words. But it's much more than that,

Pulkit Synapse is the SQL Data Warehouse version of SQL Server. So, it's all SQL but if your data is actually in Synapse, probably best to use that connector.
