Detail transaction with total

I have a table that contains a transaction date and an amount. I want to have a detail report that contains those two columns with a grand total. There are times when I have a detail transaction with the same date and amount and want both of those to show up in the table along with a total line.  If I put both of those columns in a table, the amount will be summarized and only one row appears. If I use "don't summarize" option on amount, both rows appear but the total does not appear. Does anyone have a solution to this problem?

  • Hi FrankLaMa ,
Depending on the visual you're using, you can change the field color to something that blends with the visual's background (e.g. white on white).  You can also rename the index column to a shorter one. For tables, that shuld be under Specific column tile in Visual tab under Formal visual pane.

  • Hi FrankLaMa,
Do you have another column in your data that will make your table show each transaction line - some kind of an ID that is unique to each row? If there's none, my approach would be to add an index column in Power Query and use that in your visual so each row in the dataset is represented by an index number.  For your reference: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-query/add-index-column

danextian Unfortunately, I don't have any ID to make it unique. However, I could use the solution you recommended to create a unique key. Is there way to hide that column in the visual since it will not make any sense to the users of the report?
