In my PBIP project I solved it myself by trying first to delete "cache.abf".
Then Power BI did open normally and loaded the project withot any issues.

Hi Dickel123,
You might want to look at this topic
Sugesstion is the following
- Open the pbi folder in the *.SemanticModel folder.
- Delete all files in that folder (editorSettings.json, cache.adf, and localSettings.json ). Not sure if I needed to delete all of them.
- Load the Power BI project in Power BI desktop and it should load. The data will need to be rehydrated since the cache file was removed.
A user said only removing the cahe file is enough to fix the issue.

Yes, deleting cache.abf was enough in my case.

Yes it works for me as well. However I have identified the root cause: one of my table is incrementaly refreshed. The incrementalPeriods (refreshPolicy) attribute was updated leading to this issue.

What is the root cause of this cache.abf? It will be regenerated once again in the future?
