Desktop File Locking Up System

Not sure how to handle, but i have one file that whenever I try and modify or have it open for too long, it locks up and prevents me from doing anything else on my system. It's almost like it's trying to process because if i leave it a lone for a while, it does eventually finish doing what it's trying to do. However, my system becomes extremely slow and lags in everythign I'm trying to do. I've had to restart my system, but then the same thing happens again when I try and work with this same file.

I have a few other desktop files that i'm in about the same amount and this doesn't happen with those. I'm not sure what it is about this file that is unique and is causing my system to lock up.

Not sure what details are needed to try and diagnose, but if anyone  has thoughs, would love to hear!

What is specific in that file? When your system comes slow and lag, do you see high memory and CPU utilization by Power BI Process?
