Defining Large Scale

Hello everyone,

I keep reading "large scale" data sources in different context everywhere, specially concerning data connection : "LiveConnect is better for large scale data sources".

My question is : from what size are we talking about "large scale" ?

- 200 Mo

- 1 Go

... ?

Thank you

Hi Power_BI XploR,

I think the "Large scale" in Live connection is compared to Import model. For import model, it will have data size limit for 1G, but the live connection doesn't have this limitation. You could refer to DirectQuery, Live Connection or Import Data? Tough Decision! and Using DirectQuery in Power BIfor details.

Best Regards,

Thank you @dax

Ok :

- For LiveConnect, there are no restrictions and the size does not matter.

- For Import, there are size restrictions BUT what is defined as "large volume" ? From which size we can consider it as a large volume ?

Thanks.
