My report needs to display 6 months data (excluding last 2 months) on loading the report . For ex : If viewing today(8/30/18), it should default my date filter to Jan 2018 through June 2018 . Once it is loaded , user should be given flexibility to select different date range to view the data using a slicer .
Currently, I have used page filter and manually set advanced filter date range to 1/1/2018 through 6/30/2018 . Though this displays 6 months of data , it doesn't allow user to change the date range to prior dates.
Thanks in advance

Thank you, Jimmy. I just voted for it .
Meanwhile , I'm thinking of using custom column to flag it if date is within my default date range and then use it as page level filter. This solves setting default date range , but still not sure on toggle between default range and custom range in case if user wants to select different date range .
Thanks
Venu
Hi vyankarla,
Based on your description, you want to achieve the default value or default range, right? Unfortunately this has not been supported in power bi, in addtion, you can vote for this idea here : https://ideas.powerbi.com/forums/265200-power-bi-ideas/suggestions/7162004-default-selected-slicer-o....
