I have a date slicer as it shown below, next to the slicer there is a toggle and with that the users can select the current month (solved via bookmarks).
The problem is that the users requested from me that the selection of the period should be remembered in the date slicer when they activate the toggle and deactive, for example:
1. Toggle is off, date is selected:
2. Toggle is on and showing the current month:
3. Click once again on the toggle, to deactive it, but it is resetting the date slicer even though they would like to see the selection of 2022:
Is there any way to solve this? I would avoid to setup multiple bookmarks (to create duplicates of the visualization and hiding/showing them) because of the amount of visualizations.
I explained that multiple times to my product owner that this is normal behaviour of the slicer and it is needed to not to have the scenario to cross-filter the data, but it looks like a must have requirement.

Tell them that their must have requirement is impossible. You have already identified a potential workaround that has a high maintenance cost.
Power BI does remember the filter settings on a per user basis, but only one for each filter (if you allow it, via a cookie). You are being asked to provide freely addressable history for each filter and user - not something that is likely to ever be implemented.

I was thinking about to create a kind of custom visualization with JS, but the more I think about it I'm realizing that it not only requires high maintenance, but I have a feeling that probably it will cause some kind of conflict between the PBIS and the custom visualiztion, because of the cookies (as you mentioned) as well and in the end it we are going to have some kind of security issue as well.
