Date not sorting correctly by month but works for date

I have a problem sorting from Jan to Dec for column chart.

I have the relationship created for my field called "project" and it's connected to my calendar.

Here it is sorting by day, which is working perfectly. 

However, when changing to month it's not sorting correctly.

After changing the source format it solved the problem.

As i understand you have calendar table , so you might visualize with "month name" instead of month date. 

(Or try to visualize with month date and select sort by month id / name)
