I'm a beginner user to PowerBI and I must be missing something very simple here. Below is example of what I am trying to create with a chart as below (Excel) which shows dates along X Axis.
When I import data to PowerBI, I am only getting the option to count. Are there extra steps I need to do to achieve the above?

Hi @JVP ,
I did a test similar to yours: I created a bar chart and found that the date column also automatically became counted, which I think may be bar chart can only use number as x-axis
Are you considering using another visual? For example Gantt Chart, it presents the same type of chart as you want to achieve.

Were you able to reach a solution?
Hi, no the gantt chart visual didn't fit my needs either so I ended up not using dates and just used a count of the days left instead.

Thanks, I didn't think of a Gantt chart. I'll give it a go.
I tried changing the date column to "Whole number" format and it does show the other options other than count but it still can't treat it as a date.
I ended up just using a databar in conditional formatting instead for what I needed. I guess PowerBI does not support plotting Text against Dates, only dates against number values.
