Date formatting in the report

Hello,

I have a report which is connected to a model, in this particular report I have used Order date's column in one of the visual. The order date is in the format-mm/dd/yy. The user now wants to change the format to mm/dd/yyyy but the changes should be done in the report and not in the model.

In the report the format options for the columns are blocked, is there any other of achieving the same without touching the query editor.

(PS-I even tried the measure for format date but it did not work woth order date)

Hi @Avivek ,

Unfortunately,  this is the only solution you could suggest. When we connect live to data model, we do not have the ability to makes changes to the model .

Hi @Avivek ,

Are you using live connection model in your pbix?  If so, you can only change the date format in data source.

@v-deddai1-msft thats the solution I could suggest. But the user would like to do it without touching the model. Nothing else seemed to work for me.

@VijayP , this is actually a report which is connected to a data model, but in the report this option seems to be blocked. However it is there in model
