Date format in report view appears in MM-DD-YYYY but in model and table view is DD-MM-YYYY

Hello,

I set the date in model view to be in the desired format of DD-MM-YYYY.

However, in the report view it appears in MM-DD-YYYY format.

Any ideas how to correct this? I did a lot of research and all of the suggestions failed.

Thank you

Hi @pmmarinou - Check the "Locale for import" setting. Ensure it is set to a region that uses the DD-MM-YYYY format, such as "English (United States)" or any other appropriate region. You can change this to your desired region, and it should apply to all the data imported.

check on regional settings, locale settings in Power BI Desktop, or specific format settings applied to visuals.

Hope it works

Hi @pmmarinou ,

When you use a slicer to display or set a range of dates, the dates display in the Short Date format. The user's browser or operating system locale determines the date format. As such, it will be the display format no matter what the data type settings are for the underlying data or model.

Hope it helps!

Hello @pmmarinou,

You can solve this problem in your Power Query Side. I've made an example for that. Firsty, I have date such like MM/DD/YYYY and when I change type only to date. In visualization side won't be changing. But İf you change type as with Locale and for example made Locale as Turkish. İt will be dd/mm/yyyy type. And when ı close&apply. it will be what you would like to see.
