Date Slicer Slider Control

Does anyone know if it's possible to control the slider on a date slicer?  My date data only contains 1st of each month but it's still allowing the user to slide and select dates between.

The slider is a really easy way to change the date range but as mentioned my data only contains months, so I was hoping there is a way to get the slider to skip dates and display only the first of each month, are there any tips or tricks anyone knows of (or a replacement visual that's free).

I realise I can change it to a dropdown which I will probably have to do, but I'm hoping there is a workaround.

I'm working in Desktop but need to publish to Power BI Service.

Many thanks.

Hi @trevrobwhite2 ,

As you mentioned, even if your data only includes dates on the 1st of each month, the slicer slider can still move to other dates when the “between” type is selected. Based on my testing, there doesn’t appear to be a way to restrict it to only the 1st of each month when using this type. However, this does not impact the accuracy of your values. You can also submit a new idea. It is a place for customers provide feedback about Microsoft Office products . What's more, if feedback is high voted there by other customers, it will be promising that Microsoft Product Team will take it into consideration when designing the next version in the future.

Additionally, you can select the dropdown type or choose the slicer type to be a vertical list, ensuring that only the 1st of each month is displayed.
