Date Grouping and Sorting

Hello.

I have a table with different dates.

I need to group these dates based on month and period, meaning:

Period 1 - From July 2020 to June 2021

Period 2 - From July 2021 to June 2022

Then, I want to have different graphs with sales per period and drillthrough to see sales per month.

But I want the graph to be ordered by Period when maxed out and after I drill, to be ordered from July to June.

What is the best method to accomplish this?

Thank you.

Hi @PDRTXRA , The best method to accomplish this is to create a Date table. Establish a relationship between the Date table and your Sales date. And then use the columns from the date table such as Financial Year and Month in your visuals.

There are plenty of resources online detailing how to create a date table. Here is one example: https://radacad.com/power-bi-date-or-calendar-table-best-method-dax-or-power-query
