Datasource settings are greyed out

Hello,

My desktop app is at latest version:  Version: 2.84.701.0 64-bit (august 2020)

Googling for the issue havent yield any result so far.

In my project, i have KUSTO-type datasources and I am operating at Power Query Editor, when I choose any dataset from the left side and then at the right pane, there is APPLIED STEPS .

There is Source, but right-clickin there brings out list of options, out of only 2 are not gray :

     Diagnose

     Properties.

First one "Edit Settings" is unfortunately greyd out, anyone can comment, why?

I checked also at the app's File -- > Options, but no usable options seems to be missing there.

Would be really grateful, if anyone coult point me to the solution,

thanks,

Janno

  • Hi jannom ,

Can you use the ‘Data source settings’ feature normally?

    And what's your data source?

Are you using the Power BI built-in connector to connect to the data source? Or is it a manually written query?

    Best regards,
    Lionel Chen

      Hello,

Now I see the issue, my current (and troublesome) DataSource type is "Azure Data Explorer (Kusto) LEGACY", but when
I create a new datasource with Kusto built-in connector, then it shows as type "Azure Data Explorer (Kusto)" without LEGACY.

And with that type of datasource, I can (in right-side pane) right-click in Applied Steps->Source and there i can shoose "Edit Settings"
Ok, i should have probably figured this out myself, sorry for bothering you guys!
Anyway, thanks for your help and feedback!
