I have watched the below but I don't see any steps or relevance with adding dataset owner to the data source. Why is it the third step specifically or rather why it is needed, could anyone help me with this?

Shouldn't it be assigned by default? Where in PowerBI is this?
Hi @YoungLearning ,
My image comes from Manage permissions on the Power BI Service side. which assigns permissions to participating users.

Hi @YoungLearning ,
While the third step mentioned above is not necessary in configuring scheduled refreshes, it involves granting permissions or access to the person responsible for the dataset. This step ensures that only authorized personnel can manage and maintain the integrity of the data set, thus guaranteeing the security and validity of the system configuration.

@YoungLearning Third Step: Add the dataset owner to the data source. Ensure that the dataset owner (the Power BI user or service account) has appropriate permissions to access the on-premises SQL server database. This is important for successful data retrieval during refresh.
