My pbix file (dataset) crashed on save (file is about 100MB), and I could not open it again (after pc reboot). I reverted to the saved version before the crash, but in that version I experience that every time I hit save, close and re-open the dataset, the default datamodel has disappeared:
It gets restored again (with the original layout) by clicking "Show all tables", but disappears again after a save, close and re-open. The custom layout I have called "All tables from auto layout" remains.
The reports in the file seem to be working though.
I have also tried to save the pbix as pbit with a new data refresh, but the same happens.
Are my pbix/pbit metadata corrupt? If so, is there any way to fix that?
I am using the latest version of Power BI Desktop: 2.110.805.0 64-bit (oktober 2022)
I can send somebody in the Power BI team my pbix file in a mini version (5 MB) for investigation, if you want to replicate the problem.
Hi @Eric7 ,
Is it the PBIX file you created? If not, what is the version of the pbix file?
I have found a similar post, please refer to it to see if it ehlps you.

I was using a pbix file of a different version then that pbi desktop installed on my PC.

Hi, the case you provided does not help unfortunately, as my pbix is created by me with the latest Power BI desktop version. In my pbix (now anonymized), unchecking flag "Enabled" for table "Date Age" causes the datamodel to show. But so does also removing other tables, so I cannot see any particular table being the culprit. Where should I send my pbix?
Hi, I will share the pbix with you, but I would like an email address to give access to (avoiding giving access to everybody), can you provide that? You can send me the email I should use to pbi_eh@outlook.com
Thanks
Eric
Hi @Eric7 ,
I am sorry. Due to privacy, I cannot give my email address. You can share the pbix file without privacy information by onedrive or google.

I have now dicovered the same issue in another of my pbix files. It seems to me that there is some limit as to how many tables/relationships that the default table view "All tables" is able to show. I believe this limit/issue was introduced in one of the latest releases of Power BI Desktop. Fortunately, the custom views do not seem to have this limit.
The pbix file is anonymized, but still contains business logic which I cannot remove. If I do, the issue will not be possible to replicate. I have added a Power Platform support request (ID 2211170050001523) where the pbix file is attached. Are you able to get access to it?
