Databricks is not available as source in Report Builder
- 7 months ago
Hii mohsarif
To connect Azure Databricks, use one of these supported methods:
Option 1 (Recommended): Use ODBC
-
Install the Databricks ODBC driver.
-
Create a DSN using your Databricks Server Hostname, HTTP Path, and Personal Access Token.
-
In Report Builder >> Data Source >> ODBC >> select the DSN.
-
Now you can write custom SQL queries in the Dataset query designer.
Option 2: Use Azure Synapse / SQL Endpoint
If using Databricks SQL Warehouse, connect via Microsoft SQL Server connection type using:-
Server = Databricks SQL endpoint
-
Authentication = Token (or Azure AD)
The reason you don’t see Databricks directly is because Report Builder only supports standard providers (SQL, ODBC, OLE DB, etc.), so Databricks must be accessed through one of those drivers.

Hi mohsarif , I'm using the below approach to load the data .You can get the custom query into the dataset :
Get data -> Azure databricks -> Fill in the credentials -> next -> Select a table-> Transform data
Advanced query
Add the below query:
let
Source = Value.NativeQuery(Databricks.Catalogs(@Hostname_value, @HTTPPath_value, [Catalog=null, Database=null, EnableAutomaticProxyDiscovery="enabled"])
{[Name=@Database_value,Kind="Database"]}[Data],
"
Select * from the sampletable " ,
null,
[EnableFolding=true])
in
Source
@Hostname_value Host name
@HTTPPath_value Http path
@Database_value Database
Thanks
