DataFormat Error: File Contains corrupted data / Details: [Binary]

Hi All,

Please suggest how to avoid this such error.

It would happen many times when the corporate connection got slowness or unstable. Apart of hanadle with the connection, is there any solution to do with the file or prepation process?

File: Excel

Hi @Chipsnump

The following steps are for your reference:

  • Ensure that the Excel file you want to connect to is in a format supported by Power Query. Power Query works best with .xlsx files. If your file is in a different format (e.g. .xls), consider saving it in .xlsx format before attempting to connect.

  • You can also try restarting your Power BI desktop, clearing temporary files.

Best Regards,
Yulia Xu
