Hi all,
Bellow is part of a model that I have inherited, and I woul like to know what's the reason to copy a table and leave the duplicated table only with a specific column?

Hi @ROG ,
According to your statement, I think your problem should be why we need a dimtable like "Sales Channel_VCP" in your data model. "Sales Channel" should be the fact table.
As far as I know, values in [VCCP Channel] column from "Sales Channel_VCP" table should be unique. This kind of table is very useful for star schema or many to many relationship in your data model.
Fact Table:
It contains all the primary keys of the dimension and associated facts or measures(is a property on which calculations can be made) like count of items, total sales, average of sales etc.
Dimension Tables:
Dimension tables provides descriptive information for all the measurements recorded in fact table.
Dimensions are relatively very small in comparison of fact table.A fact table holds the data to be analyzed, and a dimension table stores data about the ways in which the data in the fact table can be analyzed.
For refernece:
Apply many-to-many relationships in Power BI Desktop
Understand star schema and the importance for Power BI

It can be useful to have disconnected tables like that to use in slicers when you don't want the selection to affect everything on the page, only specific measures.
You can use Tabular Editor to see what measures or columns use that table, just right-click on it in the TOM explorer and Show Dependencies.
