Hello, I would like to create a data model for sql optima erp database in power bi. Is there a chance for help in defining the relational model and the necessary arrays so that I can avoid problems with later optimization.
For example, I suspect that it is better to extract tables to power bi, through sql queries with individual records, instead of loading entire tables from the database and then adapting them to the necessary minimum via power query.
I also want to define all the necessary tables and relationships between them at once. Does anyone have a template for such a medel and can share?
Best Regards
Sebastian
Hello @s_kula ,
You could start by creating views in sql for the data you want to use in power bi, dont import unnecessary data that you want use.
make sure to make it as a starschema, refer to this link https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/guidance/star-schema
lastly, try to make as much as you can transformation in SQL rather than in Power BI for better performance.
