Data is null

Hi everyone,

I have been loading csv files from ssms to power bi for the last couple of weeks and I haven't had an issue with it.  But when I ran it in ssms and loaded it into power bi today the data for this week 7/13/2020-7/14/2020 is not there.  When I run it in ssms all the data is there.  But when I look at the data in Power Query in Power BI all the columns but one say null.  I have been doing the same steps for the last couple of week so I am not sure why it would happen now.

 Thanks!

Hi @parry2k ,

Thanks for the suggestions on how to fix this. The CSV file is now working again. Not sure if it was me fixing the save columns with headers option in SSMS or it somehow fixed itself. Thanks again for the help!

@Anonymous weird, so you basically data for each week or your appending, can you share power query from the advanced editor, very hard to say what is going on.

@Anonymous so you are reading the file from shrepoint, it is excel or CSV file? Do you see the data when you open the file directly? Did anything change compared to previous files?

I would  Kudos if my solution helped. 👉 If you can spend time posting the question, you can also make efforts to give Kudos whoever helped to solve your problem. It is a token of appreciation!

@parry2k it is a CSV file that I save from ssms.  And yes I can see the data when I open the CSV file directly.  The only thing that would've changed would be the location that the data is coming from (last couple of weeks location 1, this week location 2) but I have filters set to recignize the change in locations.  And the data was there yesterday and now it's all null

@Anonymous very hard to tell, we can have a quick call if you want me to take a look, send me an email that is in my signature. I'm around for another 30 min or so.

@parry2k  could the reason why the CSV files aren't loading in because of the recent update to power bi desktop?

@Anonymous I don;t think so, it is something with the transformation, hard to tell without looking at it.

@parry2k  what would you have to look at to possibly find a fix?  Also could it be that location 2 isn't in power bi?

@Anonymous As mentioned previously I'm out of ideas until I get to see it, if you want, send me an email and we can schedule a time to take a look.
