Data in Power BI Service differs from desktop version

Hi All,

I am currently experiencing something I have never seen before. I am refreshing a report in Power BI Desktop, and once it's published to Power BI Service and automatically refreshed an hour later, some of the data changes significantly. I have tried publishing the report to different workspaces, but I am getting the same outcome every time. If it were a dataset issue, why do I keep getting the correct numbers when I refresh the report from the desktop?

I would appreciate it if anyone could help me with this. Thanks.

  • Hi Anonymous ,

I had a similar issue before and figured that I had to specify the culture/locale in desktop when changing a datetime column to date.  That could also be the case for you.

thanks for your answer. Unfortunately this is not my case as I'm only getting the wrong data for one branch in particular. The other branches show the correct data

I would try compare my desktop and service on a transaction id level to see if there are any discrepancies from there and work my way up.
