Data bar highest value

Is it possible to put in the highest value of a data bar based on a different column?

Which visual are you using?

If the Data bar supports conditional formatting, you can try using conditional formatting.

If conditional formatting is not supported, you may not be able to achieve your idea by using the current visual.

I am using the table and matrix table visuals.

Is it possible? I have a "Stock level" column, and a "Reorder level" column. I would like the stock level column use data bars, and the highest value is taken from the Reorder level column.

To my knowledge, your requirement could not be realized currently. An idea similar with what you expect has been submitted here, please vote it up and you can add comments. Hopes Power Bi will implement this in nearby future.

Besides, here is a workaround:

First add the Reorder level and rename it:

Conditional format it to data bar:

Please try:

1. Add the Reorder level column into the Table Visual

2. Choose the aggregation you need:

3. Use  the [Space] bar(Make its name display blank) to rename it:

4. Conditional format it to data bar:

5. Now you will have a column of data bar, you can move it to the place you need:

Thanks @v-jianboli-msft for looking into this, this would have worked if there is only one "Reorder level" column, but I wanted to display the reorder level column as numbers as well, if I put two of the same column, Power BI will not allow me to rename one as space. Any more ideas?

Hi @Genoa ,

The reason you can't rename it is because you are actually adding the same measure generated by the 'reorder level' field for the second time. Thus, you cannot add and rename it again.

You can create a new measrue to display the number of 'reorder level':

Reorder Level' = SUM('Table'[Reorder level])

Note: The new measure and column "reorder level" cannot have the same name
