Experienced Power BI developer, and I've run into an issue I've never seen before. I have a report query, that when executing a refresh, first loads from the proper SQL server/database; and then attempts a second load from a totally unrelated SQL server/database. The 2nd load hangs with a much smaller number of records (than the 1st load), and prevents the overall data refresh from completing. This is not surprising as the database table referenced by the query during the 2nd attempted load doesn't actually exist in the referenced SQL Server/database
The database that is legitimate (the one referenced in the first load) is a new data source, freshly created, and has had multiple modifications made by DBA-related personnel. The modifications included setting up a scheduled daily append to the database from another file-based source. Prior to these modifications, and following the databases' initial creation - the query loaded only once, and from the proper source. So it was fine. I can't help but think that something was done on the data source side, maybe during the setup of the daily append operation - does anyone have any ideas how to prove this one way or the other?
Much appreciated!
@nash2z, can you start a new power bi file and use this 2nd query to see if that isolates the problem?

@nash2z This is strange - so you are saying in PQ you have only one query using SQL server and there is no other query, correct? How do you pull data from SQL, table, or views or using SQL query?

There are 3 queries total - all SQL Server based. 2 of the 3 and the unsuccessful 2nd query in question attempt to load from the same server/db. PQ is not using the explicit SQL (available to be placed in the 'Advanced Options' window) but is using PQ's 'Import'. And here is where the issue is, I believe - but I don't know of any logs I can check to see what's going on underneath the covers of the 'Import'
