I've created many reports using data from a database located on Azure. I need to change my data source to an updated database. The old and new database are both in Azure. The new database has some additional information so the databases are not exactly the same. Most of the queries are the same. I know I'll have to recreate some of the reports I have, but I'm hoping not to recreate all of them.
On my desktop Power BI, I went into Edit Queries, Data Source Settings and changed the datasource to the new name. The refresh completed with no errors.
But the queries have not been updated to the new source on my desktop. I can view the new source in the online Power BI and see the tables that the queries produced are different.
Any help appreciated

Create a new query that connects to the new data source. Go into Advanced Editor in the Query Editor and copy the Source line. Then, edit your other queries and replace their Source lines.
Create a new query that connects to the new data source. Go into Advanced Editor in the Query Editor and copy the Source line. Then, edit your other queries and replace their Source lines.
When I went into the Advanced Editor in the Query Editor the Source line is already pointing to the correct source. I had already changed the source using Data Source Settings and it changed all the queries to the new data source.
I should have added that even though the queries are all pointing to the new data source, the reports are not updating when I refresh.
Final solution. I had a friend who knows SQL take a look and he helped me change the SQL code in the Advanced Editor in the Query Editor. I know the step I missed was not creating a new query as you stated. I just used the Data Source Setting in the Query Editor.
