Data Slicer - Graphs display specific values of colums

Hey! i am quite new to Power BI and Power Apps.

I am a bit familiar with SQL Lang. and Excel but i actually need some help to implement a simple filter option. I would really appreciate your help.

I have an Excel Table with a Date in the first column and then different counters 1 to 5.

ROW A - Name    ROW B - Counter 1 ROW C - Counter 2 ... etc.

Now i want to display some visuals for the data and on X i have the time. This works fine but i need a data slicer that people can only see the values of Counter 1 for example. If i apply a data slicer and set as a field the Column i can just filter for the specific values that are in this column.

I hope you can help me fast to fix this easy problem. I think i need to group the data maybe? Or make a hierachic connection?

BR

Fabian

Hi @Anonymous ,

As far as I know, in the latest version of powerbi, it is not possible to select different columns through slices and display them in visual. The role of slicer can only filter specific values in specific columns or multiple columns.

As a workaround, I would suggest you use bookmark to set different bookmark for "first slicer". For more details, you can read related document:Bookmarks and Buttons: Making Power BI Charts Even More Interactive - RADACAD

If the problem is still not resolved, please provide detailed error information and let me know immediately. Looking forward to your reply.

Best Regards,
Henry

Hi @amitchandak ,

thanks for you reply 🙂

End DateCounter 1Counter 2Counter 3Counter 4Counter 5
24.08.2021100101070100
25.08.2021150302090200

Now i have a visual (line diagramm with all columns values on Y) and a slicer for the time this works well. But i also want to have a sliver to filter for the columns. For example when i choose Counter 3 i only want to see the values of Counter 3 in that line visual.

@Anonymous ,Can you share sample data and sample output in table format? Or a sample pbix after removing sensitive data.
