I'm building a report that will include 4 key data sets.
Each data set will have a different data date (e.g. on set may be Jan - March, and the other Jan - May).
What is the best way to add a unique data date to each of the 4 data sets?
Hi @jenniferrayner ,
Please help me clarify your scenario:
1. How to get the overall report date? Will it always be the current day?(Today overall report date is 2021/8/17, tomorrow ,it will be 2021/8/18) Or a value selected from a slicer?
2. Do you want to filter the 3 tables based on the overall report date?
For example, overall report date =7/31, The financial data table has many rows from 2021/1/1 -2021/8/17.
In this case , you just want to display data before 2021/5/31 =2021/7/31 two months ago?
The quality data will be current as of 2021/6/30=2021/7/31 one month ago?
The volume data will be current as of 2021/7/31=2021/7/31?
Best Regards,
Eyelyn Qin

Hi Evelyn,
Each Excel doc that I have added to the Power BI report will carry it's own data date.
The overall date of the report will be the most current data date.
I could easily make a table that holds the dates.
Excel # 1 Financials - Data date May 31, 2021
Excel # 2 Quality - Data date June 30, 2021
Excel # 3 Volume - Data date July 31, 2021
Report Date - July 31, 2021
I appreciate the help.
@jenniferrayner Sorry, not sure I fully understand the question. Is all you have is the months, no year or anything? And you want a unique key for everything?
I'm sorry.
For example -
My overall report date will be July 31, 2021.
The financial data will be current as of May 31, 2021.
The quality data will be current as of June 30, 2021.
The volume data will be current as of July 31, 2021.
For each type of visuals, I need the user to see the correct data date.
Does that help?
