We are having problems accessing a customer's dashboards. We've long had a Microsoft 365 family subscription with an email, which Microsoft identifies as a personal account. As the months go by, we make a free version with that same email / alias to access the dashboards of that client. From there, we take the step to having a monthly PowerBi pro license.
The problem we are having is the following (and it seems that it is very familiar) when accessing the dashboards of that client: "The selected user account does not exist in the tenant "XXXXXXXXX", so the application "871c010f-5e61-4fb1-83ac-98610a7e9110" of that tenant cannot be accessed. To do this, you first need to add the account as an external user in your tenant. Use a different account."
Microsoft identifies this email (alias) as two types of account: A professional one (which is the typology that is made when creating the powerbi pro license if I remember correctly) and the personal one. They are two different names of our company with the same email.
Seeing that the problem could be that, we opted for what we read in a forum, that one of the family members will transfer the pro license, as can be done from the power bi administration panel. But when we do that, it tells us that we have an account with a free version, when that is not the case.
For this reason, we have several open fronts:
- With the personal account of the email registered in the power bi pro license, we can access but it tells us that we have a free version, when it is not.
- With the professional email account registered in the power bi pro license, we get the error: "871c010f-5e61-4fb1-83ac-98610a7e9110"
- With the personal account of a member of the company, it tells us when accessing the panels that we have the free version.
What we would like and are trying to solve is that with the company's email (Alias), these panels can be accessed. Do I need to delete the personal or professional account to be able to access, keeping the other one obviously? Is that possible and that it does not harm our Microsoft 365 family? Do I need to verify something with the client about how they have given us permission and to what type of account? Or in the worst case, if there is no other solution, can I add a new email/alias to the power bi pro license and have it be the one we can access it with? What type should this new email have: personal or professional?
Thank you very much for the help but we are overwhelmed with this problem.
Hi @Syndicate_Admin - Open an Incognito window and log in with the work account only.Alternatively, use a different browser profile for work vs. personal accounts.Verify which account (personal vs. work) actually holds your Power BI Pro license.Ask the client to remove and re-add your correct account type in their Azure AD.

Thank you so much for the help. The problem I find from that private window is that only my personal account recognizes me. When I try to enter with the professional (where I have the license) she tells me that she does not recognize the password. That is, for that alias (email) I have two accounts and each with a different password. And when I log in the personal account it lets me in but I get "Free version" when I have the license in the professional account. How can I let PowerBi know that I want to go in with the professional?
Thank you very much
