This issue is glaringly obvious (pun intended) and has been discussed across multiple posts, across multiple years ! (even within these forums there are posts from 2018 that keyword dark mode flagging it as a fundamental/basic requirement).
When are we 'actually' going to have a solution from MS to resolve this ? this isn't a quality of life issue, this is an accessability issue.
Added context - I work on a restricted network and cannot (and do not want to) install third party executables or run magnifier inverted overlays which despite reducing glare, make as much annoyance by having to enable/disable to check end results (and let's not even talk about how all this interacts with the MS 'night light' function).
The fact that a product like this can exist in 2024 without dark mode has got to be the largest sign of incompitence there is. Absolutely disgraceful.
Does anyone have any updates on when this proposed 'dark mode' is scheduled for ? with MS' 2023 confirmation that it was coming, I was hoping it wouldn't be another year on, but here we are, still nothing...
Hi @MrTea ,
Thank you for raising concerns about the usability and implementation of dark mode in Microsoft products. Dark Mode is available in the Power BI mobile application and allows users to switch to a darker theme to reduce eyestrain and improve visibility in low light conditions. This feature can be enabled directly in the app's settings or preferences. For more detailed instructions, see the link below:
Dark mode - Power BI | Microsoft Learn
For those of you who work in environments that restrict the installation of third-party tools or extensions, I recommend checking to see if your current system or browser settings provide a dark mode or night light feature that applies to all applications. This can provide a temporary solution while waiting for more integrated dark mode options in specific Microsoft products.
Finally, your feedback is invaluable in helping Microsoft prioritise and develop features that meet the needs of all users. I encourage you to continue to share your thoughts and experiences through the official feedback channels as this helps inform future updates and enhancements:
Best Regards,
Ada Wang

The Power BI Mobile App is not what I am using. I need dark mode.
Thanks for the response, however the reason I posted it in the Desktop forum is because I am not interested in the mobile app or any other defelection of the issue.
This issue lays very firmly at the door of MS who haven't made developing with Power BI accessible for anyone who values their eyesight for several years. In today's world you'd of thought (hoped) they'd have placed more focus on such things.
