Need help trying to figure out how to get inventory levels by day in Power BI with direct query connection(cannot use calculated tables as it does not refresh once published to the service).
the way the data is kept is inventory starts at the beginning of the month and then adds subtracts on a daily basis.
here is a sample of how it looks:
Date **** StockQty
02/04/24 **** 50
02/04/24 **** -30
02/03/24 **** 30
02/03/24 **** -45
02/02/24 **** 45
02/02/24 **** -20
02/01/24 **** 20
01/31/24 **** 30
01/31/24 **** -25
01/30/24 **** 25
01/30/24 **** -50
01/29/24 **** 50
01/29/24 **** -45
the purpose is to add the result to a chart and see the changes by day.
Hi, @Chanti
If you want to show the change from day to day, a line chart or bar chart can show this change, or you can use @lbendlin suggestion to consider a waterfall chart, or you can look in Power BI visual to find the visual that suits your needs.

How to get your questions answered quickly -- How to provide sample data in the Power BI Forum
Yes.
The issue is not the charts, the issue is the formula that can take into consideration that the data keeps beginning open inventory and closing ending inventory by day except for the beginning of the month where it only takes begining inventory
Have you considered using a waterfall chart?
