DAX: Text Functions help

Hey Community,

I am struggling today. I have a column with data the looks like "CustomerName (Location)". I want to make a new column off a DAX formula that will pull the location out of the column, Also, I have filtered the data on the page level to a specific company (might need a FILTER statement in my formula). This is my current expression:

Location = RIGHT('Query'[Customer Name], LEN('Query'[Customer Name]) - 1)

When I try to increase the subtracted amount, I get an error because some of the other non filtered values in the column are smaller. Also, the CustomerName portion has a static length.

Any help is appreciated!

Cheers,

Alan

Why not split the entire column in the Query Editor - Split by (Custom) Delimiter?

In the Query Editor you can also Trim and Clean much easier Smiley Happy

Hey @Sean,

That worked perfectly, not sure why I didn't think of that.

Thanks,

Alan
