Hi guys, I'm new to power BI and I'm finding dates a bit tricky. I am importing excel sheets where the date column in my tables are in the correct date format, however, it pulls through as a number each time I import to Power BI. Once I try to convert back to date in Power BI I get an error message.
Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Hi @Anonymous
You may try to check the column in Query Editor. Transform the Data type to 'Date' for this column. If it is not your case, please share some screenshots so that we could help further on it.

Thansk Cherie, the problem seemed to me on the excel side as the docs worked perfectly on my colleague's laptop. I have updated all systems and all is working perfect now. Thanks.
