Custom query using MariaDB ODBC connector
Hi All,
I switched from MySQL connecto to MariaDB connector on POwer Bi Desktop.
Using the MySQL connector I was able to select "Advanced Oprions" and insert a SQL Statement for custom query.
Now it seems using the new MariaDB Connector is not possibile to run a custom query:
I selected DirectQuery but nothing...
Do you know if there is a way to run a custom MariaDB query?
Thank you in advance!

Hi lucmel,
I'd like to suggest you use the basic odbc connector to get data, you can use this data connector with MariaDB connection string and the custom query:
Power Query ODBC connector - Power Query | Microsoft Docs
Creating a Data Source with MariaDB Connector/ODBC - MariaDB Knowledge Base

lucmel Custom query option is based on the connector you are using and not all the connectors have this option, and seems like this case for the MariaDB.

Understood.
So, do you know any version of the MariaDB connector for PowerBI that allows you to insert custom queries?

lucmel I never used MarioDB and unfortunately have no idea, I hope someone else can help.

Hi Anonymous
But does that mean you can't have a direct query anymore? Because i'm looking for a directquery mode, where i can still use a custom SQL statement
Best regards,
Willem
